Of course, firmness depends on your body weight, as well as the base of the bed it is on. In general, nearly all people will experience it as a medium firm mattress and therefore enjoy an undisturbed night's sleep.
We wouldn't be surprised if Silentnight characterised it as an orthopaedic mattress, due to the level of firmness and extra support. That's why it can be exactly what someone with a bad back or posture is looking for. The majority of those who prefer to spend their nights on their stomachs will like this mattress, as will most back sleepers. It definitely wouldn't be a top recommendation for those who are side sleepers because they're likely to find that their pressure points donβt sink in enough to encourage spinal alignment.

The system consists of 1000 individually nested pocket springs. The springs are 18 cm tall. The zoned support enhances spinal alignment, giving you a good posture and tailors to you whilst you sleep.
Why does it matter that pocket springs are individually nested? This is very important for several reasons. When the springs are fully separated, as in this case, then the motion isolation is complete. Targeted support is also achieved and fabric pockets absorb sound, making the mirapocket mattress completely silent with easy movement β the mattress truly does offer a silent night for you to sleep soundly. Overall pocket springs are superior compared to continuous coils.
24cm depth
While 18 cm tall pocket springs are of above-average height, the overall height of the mattress falls within the average for hybrid mattresses. This implies the Silentnight Eco Comfort layer and knitted cover are together only 6 cm thick, which isn't great, but due to the quality of the materials, it's enough.

The knitted cover is not removable so you can only wipe it clean, however, it's recommended you should use a mattress protector and bed sheets. Even if you don't eat or drink in bed and don't have pets, you might still stain the mattress in various ways over time. It is approved by Allergy UK.
365-night trial
We have previously criticised Silentnight more than once because of the short trial period, which made them lag behind the competition in that category. Now it's time for praise. They have extended the trial period and now it lasts 365 days for this mattress.
They have overtaken most of the competition that offers 100 and 200-night trials. However, the trial period remained without a cash-back guarantee. If you don't like the product, you can exchange it for another one, but you won't receive your money back. Now we are waiting for Silentnight to change that policy as well.
Now it's time for the main review of the Just Breathe Eco Comfort Hybrid mattress by Silentnight. This is an unconventional hybrid mattress which, instead of a combination of memory foam and springs, combines springs and an Eco Comfort fibre layer made from recycled plastic bottles. On a firmness rating scale of 1 to 10, this mattress is about an 8 for an average-weight sleeper. As such, it's suitable for stomach and back sleepers who need a lot of support instead of a mattress that sinks under pressure. It is a single-sided mattress and gives the impression of durability.
The pocket springs, Silentnight Eco Comfort fibres, and 3D fabric cover combination provide a very breathable mattress β a suitable choice for hot sleepers. It's hypoallergenic, but there's no removable cover and therefore not washable so keeping it clean can take time.
One of the main downsides is the lack of pressure relief. The Just Breathe Eco Comfort Hybrid Mattress does not excel in edge support either – while there is some, it isn't the best we've experienced. The mattress comes with a 10-year warranty and a 1-year sleep trial so if you don't get a refreshing night's sleep, you can easily return it.

What we didnβt like about Silentnight Just Breathe Eco Comfort Hybrid mattress
- The knitted cover is not removable, so the mattress protector is a must-have to keep it in the best condition.
- It is too firm to provide significant pressure relief.
- Side sleepers would appreciate at least one more Silentnight Eco Comfort layer or a memory foam to make this a softer mattress.

The common problem side sleepers have with the Silentnight Just Breathe Eco Comfort Hybrid mattress is its medium firmness. It is too firm, but an even bigger problem is the lack of pressure relief and support on the pressure points, which is especially important for side sleeping. The solution is to add a soft, memory foam topper to provide extra support and pressure relief. But is it worth buying a topper for a brand-new mattress that is not cheap at all?
