This hybrid mattress has been carefully crafted to make it the product that it is. So, we want to tell you more about some of the features you'll find inside your HiGRID mattress. Each layer plays its part in your sleep experience and it's good to know what their jobs are. Hybrid mattresses are made up of different materials and this one uses memory foam, pocket springs and their SmartGRID technology.
Here are a few of the most important features of the HiGRID Premium Hybrid Mattress.
High-resilience foam layer
Just above the engineered structured fabric with an anti-skid base, you'll find two layers of high-resilience foam. They sandwich the pocket-sprung layer which helps to enhance the responsiveness of the mattress. As well as this, HiGRID states that it provides stability and advanced orthopaedic support. Where these two layers assist with support, the hypersoft foam layer is used for a comfort layer.
Carbon-tempered pocket spring
This layer features individual pocketed spring coils. Theyβre made of stainless steel which makes them durable so you can have a good nightβs sleep for years to come.
The pocket springs give a slight bounce to the mattress but not enough to make you sink in. It creates the ideal sleep surface for pressure relief. These springs work well with their grid to give you good support.
Japanese patented SmartGRID technology
The grid itself is made from HyperElastic Polymer thatβs soft yet firm and balances comfort and support. You can expect the mattress to regulate your core body temperature thanks to the open grid structure. It allows your body heat to pass through rather than being retained.
Using this grid helps to mould the structure to the body curvatures. It cradles your body shape to relieve any pressure while remaining firm enough to support your back and spine.
Review of the HiGRID Premium Hybrid Mattress
When testing out the Premium Hybrid Mattress from HiGRID, I found it to be quite dense to lie on and I didnβt really sink into it. It doesnβt have the most contouring structure but it does work for all sleeping positions. However, it is still comfortable to sleep on – especially for those who are front or back sleepers.
A positive to its density and lack of bounce is the good edge support and motion isolation. Sharing a bed has never been easier with no movement to wake you up and the whole sleep surface to lie on without sinking too deep.
This hybrid mattress comes rolled up tight in a bag which could be reused – obviously, you wonβt be fitting the mattress back inβ¦ Iβm not sure what other purpose you could use it for, I wouldβve preferred a cardboard box that I could recycle. But hey, Iβm sure you could find a use for it.
Another reason for wanting a box instead of the bag is that it was very tricky to take the mattress out. There were two of us tackling the mattress and it took some time and effort.

What we like about the HiGRID Premium Hybrid Mattress
Our review can have a lot of information to digest so we like to break it down into a few points of what we love about this product. Many people would enjoy having this mattress in their bedroom to help them get a comfortable night's sleep.
Once I had left the mattress to expand, I could take time to look at the design features. The cover is soft to the touch and easily removable. Thereβs a zip all the way around the mattress so you can get the cover off in seconds. I love the clever handle design on the Premium Hybrid Mattress. Theyβre certainly needed to lift this weighty product! The straps are velcroed to the base of the mattress, making them hidden away from the aesthetic. Simply un-velcro, pull out to the side and start lifting.
The motion isolation and edge-to-edge support make it a great choice for those sharing a bed. No matter what type of sleeper you or your partner are, you can both sleep happily without waking up to the other moving about. If you share with someone who takes up a lot of room – while it's not ideal (of course), knowing you can sleep towards the edge of the bed without slipping off is always favourable.
I love the quality of the HiGRID mattress and itβs noticeable from the look and the feel. As soon as I saw it packaged and left it to expand I could tell it was of a good quality. Itβs definitely going to last you year after year.
What we didnβt like about the HiGRID Premium Hybrid Mattress
It's not all positive and one mattress isn't going to suit every single person. To give you our honest review, we wanted to summarise some of the things that aren't so good about this mattress. This is to show who the mattress might not be suitable for.
The weight of the mattress is like nothing Iβve experienced before while testing. I kept reminding myself it was because it was made from top quality. However, lifting the mattress onto the bed frame was difficult. Youβll need a few people to help with this one. Of course, once itβs in place then you wonβt have to worry but even ticking bed sheets underneath the mattress can become a bit of a chore.
As someone who sleeps on their side a lot, I didnβt find it the most comfortable mattress to lie on in this position. It is a supportive mattress but I felt as though I didnβt sink in enough to keep my spine aligned. This can become uncomfortable after spending time in that position.
Lastly, the packaging and installation process are negative for me. I havenβt found any product as difficult as this one to get out of its packaging. Itβs not a process you can do on your own. Unlike a mattress in a box that you can slide out, this one is a tedious approach. Itβs so tightly packed that you have to wriggle it out and itβs probably the heaviest mattress Iβve tested. I needed a lie down after unpacking it.

There isnβt really any mention of sustainability or the environment on their website so we canβt comment on too much. However, we can take a look at the materials used in this product to see if theyβre eco-friendly.
Stainless steel springs are sustainable materials. They can be recycled which makes them environmentally friendly.
It does come packaged in a bag that can be reused for other purposes.
The cover is cotton viscose which is sustainable compared to other materials but it can affect the environment. Organic cotton would be a better alternative.
While it isn't the worst product for sustainability, it could undoubtedly be better.

The HiGRID mattress is made up of 7 layers that each serve a different purpose. At the very top, you will find the soft touch cover that can be removed for washing. Whatβs more, it has breathable properties to keep your temperature regulated throughout the year.
Breathability is continued through to the open grid structure that they have named SmartGRID. The holes in between the grid structure keep the air flowing through the mattress. I received this sample of the layer which seemed a bit random as it was just chucked in the bag with no context but itβs useful to know exactly what goes into making the mattress. The grid is designed to give both comfort and support because it adapts when you move around. I found there to be a weird crinkling feeling underneath me but I would imagine the more you use it, the less noticeable it will become.
All-in-all, itβs a good mattress, especially for those looking for support. But some factors bring our rating down. I wasnβt blown away by it, however, the various layers will suit some sleep styles.
