If you have trouble falling asleep, putting on a good podcast can take away some of the tension and help you drift off before you know it. So, we've decided to find the top 10 best podcasts for sleep on the internet!

Although sleep podcasts aren't as popular as lofi or similar sleep-inducing channels, they're definitely a valuable asset when you want to fall asleep. From soothing stories to the natural sounds of wind and rain, a sleep podcast can help you fall asleep by creating a relaxing atmosphere.

So, we've decided to go on a hunt for the best sleep podcasts on the internet! We did our best to choose as many unique approaches as we could find. That way, just about everyone should find at least one channel that suits their needs. And if you have any recommendations that weren't mentioned here, just leave them down in the comments.

Sleep Whispers

First up, we wanted to talk about Sleep Whispers, as they have quite a few interesting things going on. We believe that a lot of people are already familiar with ASMR, and this sleep podcast scratches a very similar itch. After all, as the name implies, the host mostly talks through whispers in order to create a soothing atmosphere.

The topics of the podcast itself vary greatly, spanning from bedtime stories to guided meditation and even discussions about music. We also found it interesting that the voice behind Sleep Whispers has a separate sleep project going on called the 12-hour sound machine. The main selling point here being that you can listen to white noise uninterrupted for 12 hours.

Boring Books for Bedtime

The Boring Books for Bedtime blew us away in two specific categories. For one, instead of just sticking to just bedtime stories, the hosts often read philosophy textbooks and even manuals. And manuals are basically adult bedtime stories, so we found this approach to be quite effective.

On top of that, all of their podcasts are completely ad-free, making them an excellent choice for people who are just getting into sleep podcasts. Plus, with their choice of material, you both get to form better sleep habits and learn something new!

Slow Radio

Made by the BBC, Slow Radio takes a more traditional approach to sleep podcasts. While their topics can vary, a collection of relaxing ambient sounds makes up the bulk of their catalogue. So, if you don't want people talking the entire time, it makes for a great alternative.

Plus, we've found that some people might focus on the bedtime story too much to actually fall asleep. So, a sleep podcast where the host tells you what you're in for and mostly sticks to ambient noise is sure to be an excellent fit for a lot of people.

Get Sleepy

If stories or ambient music isn't quite your speed, Get Sleepy might be a better fit for you! Over there you can expect relaxing sleep meditations typically followed up by vivid and relaxing stories. The cast is comprised of some of the most soothing voices we've ever heard and we have to give them props for their production value.

From the sound design to their approach to the podcast itself, Get Sleepy seems meticulously designed and professional. They do also have a YouTube channel that focuses more on atmospheric work but we believe the podcast itself is a slightly better sleep aid.

Deep Energy Podcast

With daily uploads that typically last 40 minutes or more, the Deep Energy Podcast is the place to listen to new-age music and relaxing soundscapes. Once again, this is an amazing choice for people who can't fully get into a storytelling podcast but still want some help getting a good night's rest.

And as we've mentioned, their catalogue is more than impressive, with over 1000 tracks to listen to at the time of writing this. So, if you can't wait an entire week for new episodes, this is also quite the gripping hook!

Sleepy

Otis Gray, the host of the sleepy podcast

If you had the habit of falling asleep every time you got an English Literature assignment, this podcast is sure to invoke some of that sleepy nostalgia! It mainly focuses on classic tales, from Victorian writing to Sherlock Holmes.

But what made Sleepy stand out in our minds is the host, Otis Gray. Not only does he have a very soothing voice that's sure to put you at ease but he also lets some of his personality shine throughout. So, if you're looking for podcasts designed to both make you feel like you're with a friend and put you to sleep, this could be a good choice.

Game of Drones

One of the more popular podcasts in this field, Game of Drones, as the title suggests, follows the story of the popular TV show Game of Thrones. But instead of listening to the actual show, the hosts discuss and retell what's happening.

And don't worry, even if you haven't watched the series, we reckon this podcast will still put you to sleep! After all, with a plot so complex and hundreds of names to remember, this podcast will make you dose off whether you want to or not.

Nothing Much Happens

The homepage for the nothing much happens podcast

As the name might suggest, Nothing Much Happens covers very vivid stories where, well, nothing much happens. From the journey of a letter to a simple Summer morning, this podcast focuses exclusively on painting very vivid and serene pictures.

To this end, they also tell the same story twice, with the second time being a lot slower. So, if the imagined scenery wasn't peaceful enough to get you to sleep the first time around, the second round should be more than effective!

Goodnight World

While not nearly as expansive as the other podcasts we've featured so far, Goodnight World is ideal if you want to put your kids to sleep or you're still a child at heart. Through a team-up with everyone's childhood friends, this podcast has characters from Sesame Street telling relaxing stories.

It's not every day that you see an IP as popular as Sesame Street in the sleeping podcast world, so, this one definitely stands out. And while the limited amount of 20-minute episodes won't last for very long, we're sure this is one of the best podcasts for sleep if there are kids around.

Sleep Life

Just like the previous pick, Sleep Life isn't a very expansive podcast but it's worth its weight in gold. This is because it's one of the few sleep podcasts that heavily focuses on the actual science behind healthy sleep habits.

And while we'd definitely suggest learning about sleep hygiene while you're fully awake, this is still a good start! So, if you want to learn about how to get good, healthy sleep consistently while also getting a helping hand to nod off, this seems like your best choice.

Conclusion

For those struggling to fall asleep, sleep-inducing podcasts can truly be a blessing. And we hope that you've found at least one that's right up your alley. However, if you have any picks of your own that you would add to our best podcasts for sleep list, feel free to tell us down in the comments.
