Are you looking for the best small bedroom lighting ideas? Well, you came to the right spot.

It doesn't take much to transform your small bedroom into a relaxing haven – all you need is some creativity and small bedroom lighting ideas. Well, to be fair, you need a lovely bed and some other things, too, but for now – let's just stick to lighting.

Lighting is important in any room, but it's especially important in small bedrooms. The right lighting can make your small bedroom feel more spacious and inviting, so here are some lighting ideas and tips to help you achieve just that.

Natural light

No other light matters as much as natural light does. Large windows that illuminate the room bright and early are the way to go if you're stuck with a tiny boudoir. Not only will natural light make your room feel more spacious, but it will also help you save on energy bills. If you can't install new windows, consider adding a skylight or two.

Wide light fixtures

Wide light fixtures are a good option for small bedrooms because they distribute light evenly throughout the room. This is important in a small space, where every bit of light counts. An example of a wide light fixture that would be perfect for a small bedroom would be one with an airy, minimalist design that doesn't take up too much space.

Geometric lights

Geometric light fixtures are all the rage right now and for good reason. They add a touch of elegance and sophistication to any room, while also providing much-needed illumination. But can they work in a small bedroom? The answer is definitely yes. In fact, here are three reasons why geometric light fixtures are perfect for small bedrooms.

First, they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, so you can find one that fits your space perfectly. Second, their simple design means they won't take up too much visual space. And finally, they can be hung just about anywhere, so you can really get creative with your lighting.

Mirror and light

Mirrors and light fixtures are two of the best ways to illuminate a small bedroom and make it look better in the process. Mirrors reflect light and can help brighten up a space, while light fixtures can add visual interest and help to create an inviting atmosphere. So, if you're looking for ways to improve the lighting in your small bedroom, consider using mirrors and light fixtures like floor lamps. These two simple solutions can make a big difference in the way your bedroom looks and feels.

Ceiling light

The ceiling light is the second-most important light fixture in your small bedroom because it provides general illumination to the entire room. As we've already said, in a small bedroom – every bit of light counts. Additionally, ceiling lights can help to make a room feel ampler and more pleasant. So, if you're looking for ways to improve the lighting in your small bedroom, consider installing a chandelier or any other type of light fitting hanging from the ceiling.

Pendant light

Pendant lights are a great way to add both task and ambient lighting to a small room. Task lighting is important in small bedrooms because it allows you to focus light on specific areas, like a reading nook or dressing area. Pendant lights come in all shapes and sizes, so you're sure to find one that fits your space. Just make sure to hang them at the right height – pendant lights should be hung about 30 inches or so above the surface they're illuminating.

Chain lamp

Chain lamps are a great way to add task lighting to a small bedroom. They're compact and easy to install, and they provide a lot of light in a small space. Additionally, accent lighting like chain lamps come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, so you're sure to find one that fits your tiny little bedroom.

Side table lamps

Side table lamps are another great way to add light to a small bedroom. They take up very little space, so they're perfect for tiny bedrooms, and they can be used to create different lighting effects. For example, you can use side table lamps to create a cosy reading nook or to provide extra light for dressing for work or a night out.

Sphere lamp

Sphere lamps might not be your first choice, but believe us – they can get the job done. They provide a lot of light without taking up too much space, and their “unique” shape ensures that all the light is distributed equally throughout the room.

Hidden/discrete lights

A lamp does not need to be in your face, so ensuring you decorate your bedroom with small, hidden and discreet lights might be the way to go. These could be LED lights placed in strategic positions around the room, for a gentle and calming light source that does not disturb sleep.

These types of discreet acent lights can also be used to create different lighting effects in your small bedroom. For example, you can use them to accentuate certain features or artwork in the room. Or, you can use them to create a cosy and intimate atmosphere.

Tropical lights

Here's another idea that might appear “out there”, but hear us out. Tropical lights can actually be a great way to add light to a small bedroom. Tropical lights come in all sorts of shapes and sizes (but mostly tropical, right), so you can find one that fits your space perfectly. Plus, their colourful and fun design means they'll add a touch of personality to your bedroom. And, as an added bonus, they can help to create a relaxed and calming atmosphere.

So, if you're looking for ways to add light and some chic style to your small bedroom, consider using tropical wall lights.

Use oversized lamps

Okay, hear us out – break up your small space with an absolute unit of a lamp. We're talking a floor lamp that's so big that it barely fits in the room.

The reason this works is that it helps to create the illusion of more space, even though it will take up some floor space. And, as an added bonus, it provides your room with a lot of character. So, if you want to make your small bedroom feel bigger and brighter, consider using an oversized lamp.

Recessed light

Recessed lighting is another good way to evenly distribute light in a small room. It's also a great way to add ambient lighting without taking up any space.

If you're not familiar with recessed lighting, it's basically just lights that are installed into the ceiling so that they're flush with the surface. This type of lighting is perfect for small bedrooms because it doesn't create any visual clutter, unlike table and floor lamps or some hanging fixtures.

Glass lamp

A glass lamp could be an awesome addition to your space. They're often very good looking, artsy almost, and since they're transparent – they don't clutter up the space. Basically, they're bedside lamps at their finest.

What's great about glass lamps is that they come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and designs, so, you're sure to find one that fits your style and your space without any problems whatsoever.

Wooden table lamp

Last, but not least, we have the traditional wooden bedside table lamps. These bedside lights will easily fit on your bedside table and they'll bring more than just a touch of warmth to your sleeping quarters.
