This Hypnia Supreme mattress is good for those who prefer a slightly softer mattress that still gives you the benefits of comfort and support. The cover of this product makes it breathable and cooling due to the natural properties of the bamboo. I felt supported in every sleeping position so everyone should feel comfortable sleeping on this mattress. This product is suitable for:
It has a great balance of comfort and support thanks to the firm mattress and the soft topper. This mattress has naturally cooling properties that help to regulate your body temperature throughout the night. The pocket spring layer is great for aiding the correct spinal alignment. So, the mattress is used for:
Out of all three Hypnia mattresses, this one has the most complex structure to it. We have picked out a few of the main features that create the sleep experience and make this a quality mattress. It's made up of five layers from a cover to memory foam, a latex layer, honeycomb foam and pocket springs.
Here's a little more detail on some of the layers.
On the top layer of the mattress, you'll notice the separate mattress topper. This is an extra memory foam layer to reduce the pressure points of your body. Memory foam retains heat which is why this layer uses breathable fabric to cover it so you can still remain cool. The topper is there for comfort and the bamboo cover keeps hot sleepers happy.
This layer can be found just above the pocket springs at the base of the mattress. The foam layer can work with the springs to give your body the support it needs while you're sleeping. It encourages correct spinal alignment to create a comfortable mattress in every sleep position. In turn, this helps to relieve pressure from your body weight.
It has a layer of pocket springs at the base. In comparison to the Hypnia Essential Hybrid Mattress, this one has springs that are 20cm tall rather than 14cm. In the Supreme Hybrid, there are 100 more springs and it’s split into 7 zones of support (rather than 5) so relieving pressure points will be more precise. The taller springs mean improved breathability and even better support.
The first time I sat on this mattress it seemed quite dense but with a bounce to it. I wasn’t sure if I’d actually find it comfortable to lie down on. Surprisingly, I found that I sunk in perfectly with every sleep position. No matter if you sleep on your front, back or side, you will feel comfort and support. Although there is a spring to the mattress, it still has good motion isolation so fidgety sleepers won’t disturb your peaceful night's sleep.
One definite upgrade from the other two mattresses is the edge support. It’s so much better in this one than the Essential and Memory mattresses. Wherever you are on the bed, you’ll be supported.
It’s always good to find the positives to every product, especially because everyone is different and they’ll prefer different features. Here are a few of our favourite things:
No product can be perfect so we’ve got to talk about the slightly more negative aspects of the product. Here’s what we found:
Delivery – If you’re looking for friendly, fast and free delivery, then choose Hypnia. When the delivery arrived, the driver offered to take the mattress to where I needed it so I had less lifting to do. The experience was very helpful and efficient.
Payment – For split payments for more affordable instalments you can choose to pay with DivideBuy or Klarna. Otherwise, you can easily pay in full with the standard payment methods, including PayPal.
Online customer service – You can use their online chat to ask any question and most of the time the response will be very quick. In the rare case that it isn’t, there is a fun little game to play if you have to wait more than a few minutes (during opening hours) so at least you know you’ll have something to keep you entertained – like I did!
If you feel like hybrid mattresses aren't for you and you'd prefer to take a look at memory foam mattresses, then we've got the product for you. Hypnia also have the choice of a memory foam mattress rather than the hybrid ones. It can offer you a different experience that might be more suited to you.
The Hypnia Supreme Memory Mattress is a excellent choice for those who sleep on their sides. You'll receive comfort over support but enough support for alignment. Plus, maintenance is easier on this one compared to the others.
As for similarities, they both have handles for lifting, are durable and of high quality. The topper you get on the Supreme Hybrid is memory foam like the whole of the Supreme Memory. This one features various types of foam to serve different purposes.

The cover of this mattress is made with bamboo which is naturally sourced and has natural properties which is good all round. However, there are better choice of materials than memory foam like latex which is also used in this mattress. Latex is a sustainable source and boosts the sustainability of this product.
There isn't a lot of eco-friendly talk on their website but the company does work alongside recycling operators so every returned mattress will find a good home. If you are worried about the mattress itself not being the most eco-friendly, you can buy a refurbished one that has been restored. And if that’s not enough, all mattresses are made with renewable energy.
You’ll receive a 200-night trial period so if it’s not the mattress for you, it can be returned hassle-free. And if you need a guarantee that the mattress will last, they offer a 15-year warranty. Both of which help with sustainability.
To get a better understanding of how we trial the products, enabling us to give our opinions in these overviews, we undergo a few essential tests. A brief overview of how we asses includes:
If you would like some clarity, here's how we test out the practicality of a mattress and compare it to the rest of it's range:
As for the design of the Supreme Hybrid Mattress, I’m unsure if it’s suitable for me but it all comes down to personal preference. Firstly, there’s the integrated topper design that’s filled with memory foam to support your body. While it does its job, it can’t be removed so it seems strange to have it as a topper style and not within the mattress itself. Due to this, there is no removable cover – if you’re on the lookout for one with easy maintenance then we would recommend one of the other Hypnia mattresses.
A couple of layers of memory foam can cause some off-gassing to occur. However, once it’s left out to expand, it will soon air out and the smell will fade. As a hybrid mattress, you’ll find more than just foam inside. It also features a latex layer to provide comfort and regulate your temperature, as it has better pressure relief and airflow than foam.
And finally, it has a layer of pocket springs. In comparison to the Essential Hybrid, this one has springs that are 20cm tall rather than 14cm. In the Supreme Hybrid, there are 100 more springs and it’s split into 7 zones of support (not 5) so relieving pressure points will be more precise.
It really is a Supreme mattress with varying layer materials that serve different purposes.
The aesthetic of the Supreme Hybrid mattress is interesting but that’s outweighed by the internal structure. It’s great for those sharing a bed and wanting edge-to-edge support.
We may have missed out some important information on this Hypnia mattress or you skipped too far – either way we have some Q&A's for you.
Yes, it offers fantastic motion isolation so you won't feel them moving around during the night (even if they are a fidgety sleeper).
You will receive a fairly tall box with the mattress vacuum-packed inside. You might need an extra pair of hands to pull it out of the box. Once it’s out, you can remove the packaging and leave it to expand.
You can return your mattress within the 200-night trial period and any returned mattresses go through a process to be refurbished. They will bring the mattress back to their standard, ready to be resold for a lower price.
