The first time I sat on this mattress it seemed quite dense but with a bounce to it. I wasn’t sure if I’d actually find it comfortable to lie down on. Surprisingly, I found that I sunk in perfectly with every sleep position. No matter if you sleep on your front, back or side, you will feel comfort and support. Although there is a spring to the mattress, it still has good motion isolation so fidgety sleepers won’t disturb your peaceful night's sleep.
One definite upgrade from the other two mattresses is the edge support. It’s so much better in this one than the Essential and Memory mattresses. Wherever you are on the bed, you’ll be supported.

What we like about the Hypnia Supreme Hybrid Mattress
It’s always good to find the positives to every product, especially because everyone is different and they’ll prefer different features. Here are a few of our favourite things:
- When you initially sit on the product, it seems quite dense and a little firm. However, once you lie down, you'll feel it has a bounce to it and it's fairly springy. Don't worry – you can't actually feel any of the springs due to the comfort layers. The structure all works to create a perfect balance.
- The quality craftsmanship of the hybrid mattress is noticeable through the stitching on the topper and attaching the topper to the mattress. With the weight of the mattress, it needs to be at a high standard and it definitely seems like it is.
- Lastly, we loved the two vertical handles on the longer edges of the mattress. It makes such a difference to unboxing and manoeuvring onto the bed frame. Although the Hypnia Supreme Memory Mattress had handles, they were underneath which wasn't as practical as these ones.
What we didn't like about the Hypnia Supreme Hybrid Mattress
No product can be perfect so we’ve got to talk about the slightly more negative aspects of the product. Here’s what we found:
- The quilted design, while it sections comfort for durability, it isn't the most comfortable to sleep on. It does achieve longevity as the filling stays fuller in one place without flattening or clumping, however, the comfort isn't at its full potential. Perhaps this is something you can get used to over time but it wasn't something I enjoyed.
- Compared to most mattresses, this one is very heavy when it comes to lifting. We would recommend having a few people to lift it – the more the merrier – so the job can be made as easy as possible.
- Another downside to this product is the cover isn't removable. This makes maintenance a little harder. We would suggest using a mattress protector or fitted sheet to cover the mattress itself and to help with keeping it clean. The other two Hypnia mattresses do have removable covers if that's something you look for.

Delivery – If you’re looking for friendly, fast and free delivery, then choose Hypnia. When the delivery arrived, the driver offered to take the mattress to where I needed it so I had less lifting to do. The experience was very helpful and efficient.

Online customer service – You can use their online chat to ask any question and most of the time the response will be very quick. The cover of this mattress is made with bamboo which is naturally sourced and has natural properties which is good all round. However, there are better choice of materials than memory foam like latex which is also used in this mattress. Latex is a sustainable source and boosts the sustainability of this product.
There isn't a lot of eco-friendly talk on their website but the company does work alongside recycling operators so every returned mattress will find a good home. If you are worried about the mattress itself not being the most eco-friendly, you can buy a refurbished one that has been restored. And if that’s not enough, all mattresses are made with renewable energy.

As for the design of the Supreme Hybrid Mattress, I’m unsure if it’s suitable for me but it all comes down to personal preference. Firstly, there’s the integrated topper design that’s filled with memory foam to support your body. While it does its job, it can’t be removed so it seems strange to have it as a topper style and not within the mattress itself. Due to this, there is no removable cover – if you’re on the lookout for one with easy maintenance then we would recommend one of the other Hypnia mattresses.
A couple of layers of memory foam can cause some off-gassing to occur. However, once it’s left out to expand, it will soon air out and the smell will fade. As a hybrid mattress, you’ll find more than just foam inside. It also features a latex layer to provide comfort and regulate your temperature, as it has better pressure relief and airflow than foam.
