As is the case with any other mattress, we use the OTTY Aura Hybrid to achieve a better sleep quality. However, what makes OTTY Aura Hybrid special, is that despite being so affordable, it still brings a lot to the table in terms of comfort, support and durability, when compared to mattresses in a similar price range. We use it mostly for:
OTTY Aura Hybrid mattress is the improved version of a previous, currently discounted OTTY mattress called OTTY Essential Hybrid. In comparison to OTTY Essential, OTTY Aura is 3 cm thicker, with the difference lying in the 2 cm taller pocket springs and an additional 1 cm of memory foam.
Here are some of the things you should know about the OTTY Aura Hybrid mattress' defining features and characteristics.
Just like with all the other OTTY mattresses, the OTTY Aura Hybrid also comes equipped with cooling blue gel foam. As you can tell from the name, this is gel-infused memory foam.
As you know, memory foam mattresses are not that great at dissipating heat, and it often gets too warm. However, when you infuse gel into it, as OTTY did, you get a cool, soft, temperature-regulating memory foam layer that is absolutely wonderful to sleep on.
Another thing that helps OTTY Aura Hybrid stay cool during the hottest nights is the edge-to-edge Airflow side support layer.
As you can guess from the name, the main purpose of this layer is to provide additional airflow and improve both comfort and temperature regulation within the mattress. However, that is not all.
This edge-to-edge Airflow support layer also significantly improves the edge support of this mattress, which is something many hybrid mattresses have issues with.
Underneath the gel-infused blue memory foam lies a thin layer of high-density Reflex foam, used as a transitioning layer from memory foam to the pocket springs. It is slightly firmer than the gel-infused memory foam but also slightly softer than the springs, which is why it is used as a transitioning layer
Apart from that, the Reflex foam layer also improves the overall comfort and support of the OTTY Aura Hybrid mattress.
The main support “layer” of the OTTY Aura Hybrid mattress consists of the individually nestled, encapsulated, full-sized 16 cm tall pocket springs. As you can see, unlike its big brother Original Hybrid, Aura only comes with up to 1000 of these pocket springs.
As far as the springs go, they’re quite nice. They’re supportive, bouncy and highly durable, but if we consider that there’s double the amount of them in the Original Hybrid, we can’t really justify the existence of the OTTY Aura Hybrid mattress
All in all, this is a decent mattress that will elevate your sleep quality. Quite the contrary – it is quite good. It is a medium-firm, hybrid mattress. We'd rate it at 6.5 out of 10, but if you place it on a slatted base, considering the lack of pocket springs – it does get slightly softer than that. Also, it comes with a removable, machine washable cover – so that's a plus.
Also, just because there are only up to 1000 pocket springs in this one, doesn't mean that you won't get proper support – you will. Support and comfort are at the high level.
The thing that is missing is durability. Now, this is not a fragile mattress whatsoever, but it won't serve you for more than six years. Also, motion isolation is not as great as we might have expected it to be.
All in all, our final verdict is that this is a fairly good mattress, 4 out of 5 if you will. Also, considering that it is not much more affordable than OTTY Original Hybrid, it is not a type of product that you will regret if you miss it. Still, if you are planning to replace your old mattress and don't want to spend a fortune on a new mattress, this is going to be a decent choice.

What makes OTTY Aura Hybrid better than some other products in a similar price range are support and build quality. Unlike the traditional memory foam products, this is a well-built mattress; made from quality materials and CertiPUR-certified memory foam, and if you're looking for something to hold your weight – this mattress will certainly do it.
Yes. Like all other OTTY mattresses, the OTTY Aura Hybrid comes with a 100-night trial period and a 10-year warranty. A trial period is pretty self-explanatory – you have 100 days to decide whether you like the mattress or not. When it comes to warranty, OTTY will cover all of the manufacturing defects within a 10-year period. However, the warranty does not cover gradual wear and tear or failure to properly maintain the mattress.
There are three delivery options available for the OTTY Aura Hybrid. You have standard, free delivery, where the mattress would be delivered to the front door. You have a £10 “Room of Choice” delivery method, where the mattress will be delivered and unpacked in the room of your choice. And finally, you have the £40 option, where the mattress would be delivered to the room of your choice, alongside the old mattress collection.
To review the OTTY Aura Hybrid mattress, we first had to order it. We've opted out of the free delivery, as it didn't make sense for us to spend 10 or 40 quid on the delivery to our office, but if you want – you can.
The first thing that caught our eye when we unpacked the OTTY Aura Hybrid was how compact it is when first unpacked. It didn’t take long for it to fully expand, around 6 hours, and once it did, we began our tests.
As per usual, all of our team members spent ten nights sleeping on this mattress, and once everyone had had their turn, we compared notes and talked about the mattress. One of the things that took us a bit by surprise was the amount of support we got from this mattress. For a hybrid with less than 1000 (we didn't get a king-sized mattress) pocket springs – it performed really well.
However, once we performed our roller test, the lack of pocket springs became apparent. It was obvious that this was not a high-end mattress and that it wouldn’t last as long as you might expect it to, despite a 10-year warranty.
Aside from that, we did the usual tests like the sinkage test with a kettlebell in the middle of the mattress, edge-support test, bounce and motion isolation test and so on.
In the end, we wanted to wrap things up by answering some of the most frequently asked questions about the OTTY Aura Hybrid mattress.
